CALIFORNIA CRAFTS

California takes “Do It Yourself” to a whole new level! The California State Fair’s 2019 Craft Exhibit highlights the best of California’s handmade items. Come view an array of beautiful handmade creations including intricate porcelain painting, handmade dolls, clothes, jewelry, and beautiful array of quilts. This year’s special contests include a Crafting a Brighter Future contest where all items entered will be donated to either Project Linus or Newborns in Need, and a Hope is in the Stars contest which asks artists to use the star which symbolizes a sense of hope and a light shining through the darkness to channel their fears and anxieties and turn them into beauty and hope.
This year’s guidebooks are split between Handcrafts and Needle and Fiber Arts. The Handcrafts competition now has a juried acceptance which requires a photo upload to your entries. Check the guidebook for full instructions on how to enter. The Needle and Fiber Arts guide will contain all of your needle art competitions, the quilting competition, and the special contests. Needle and Fiber Arts now requires a photo upload; however, the photograph has no bearing on if your item is accepted. All items entered in the Fiber Arts divisions will be accepted for judging.
