Product Information

In Japan, monetary gifts are traditionally given in elaborately decorated folded paper "envelopes" called kinpu. They are used for everything from birthdays to funerals, and their decorations reflect the occasion.

This koden funeral envelope is a simplified version of those used for monetary offerings to the family of the deceased, with the phrase gobutsuzen printed on the front and printed silver and navy mizuhiki knot. Gobutsuzen is used for specifically Buddhist funeral ceremonies. The paper itself has small visible fiber threads, adding elegance.

Its one-piece design makes it more convenient to use than the two-piece envelope and paper wrap of more elaborate models.

Available as a single envelope or a 10 pack. Each envelope measures approx 7 in x 3.5 in.
