Berkeley Store

Beginning in January 2020, Miki's Paper has merged with Paper Tree, itself in business for over 50 years, in San Francisco's Japantown neighborhood.  All of the products and expertise has been moved to the new and improved store.

New Paper Tree

We feature photo albums, photo stands, journals and guestbooks - all handcrafted by local craftswoman using our beautiful papers. We also produce our own original note cards which are lovingly handmade in our shop.

The Miki's store was started as Elica’s Paper over 30 years ago by the late Eriko Kurita. In 1997 Miyuki Tameto took over the business and kept the store open under the name of Miki’s Paper.  In 2016 Vicky Mihara Avery, who also shared ownership of the family run Paper Tree, bought the business and shared her love of paper with her sister Linda Mihara to carry on the traditions and quality merchandise that the store is known for.

Linda manages Paper Tree and is a well known Origami artist and fine paper expert.  Paper Tree continues to do business into its 52nd year and is recognized by San Francisco as a legacy busiiness.
