In Japan, monetary gifts are traditionally given in elaborately decorated folded paper "envelopes" called kinpu. They are used for everything from birthdays to funerals, and their decorations reflect the occasion.
This noshi envelope is for happy occasions, with a navy blue color scheme. Measures approx 7.25 in x 4 in.
HOW TO USE:
1. Place money into the included money envelope with your name and amount enclosed written on the back.
2. Remove the mizuhiki closure from the paper wrapping and unfold to place the money envelope in the center.
3. Fold the top flap first and the bottom flap second. Make sure the bottom flap is visible when closed. This is important because the other way around is for funerals.
4. Replace the mizuhiki and select one of the thin strips of white paper to slide onto the front as shown. The default strip is in gold and is for general celebratory wishes. This card also includes a strip with 5 characters on it for weddings and a blank one to write your own message.
