The kimono silhouette depicted in this Furoshiki is directly inspired by the Edo-period Kosode (the ancestor of the kimono). These garments were characterized by richly detailed decorations, where embroidery was interspersed with tie-dyed motifs and sewn foil, among other techniques, to create a gorgeous costume.
Chrysanthemums mean “long life” and running water means “to ward off evil spirits,” making it a great gift idea.
The 'Setsugekka' series, meaning 'Snow, Moon, Flower,' is inspired by traditional Japanese crafts and features seasonal scenes and auspicious patterns. These crafts have transcended ages and borders due to their delicate handiwork and their use of empty space in the design.
