Maki-e is one of the lacquerware decorative techniques that Japan is proud of, in which gold and silver powder is applied to create intricate pictures and patterns.

The 'Setsugekka' series, meaning 'Snow, Moon, Flower,' is inspired by traditional Japanese crafts and features seasonal scenes and auspicious patterns. These crafts have transcended ages and borders due to their delicate handiwork and their use of empty space in the design.
